Continuing Studies course rate for UVic graduate students

In response to the growing demand from graduate students for flexible, practical training in career-relevant skills, we offer a diverse suite of non-credit, skills-based courses tailored to support the professional development needs of UVic graduate students.

Offered at a discounted rate, these courses are designed to complement disciplinary study by preparing students with critical competencies that are highly valued across sectors. (e.g., data literacy, communication, project management, leadership and more).

These non-credit offerings provide an accessible approach to career readiness and align with the university’s commitment to supporting graduate student success. The suite supports graduate students at various stages of their professional journey—whether pursuing academic careers, industry roles, or emerging opportunities in government, non-profit, or entrepreneurial sectors.

What is the UVic graduate student rate?

UVic graduate students will receive a 50 per cent discount on regular course fees. There are a variety of evening, weekend, daytime, and online courses to choose from. Check the individual course pages for more details.

What are the eligibility requirements for the graduate student rate?

Students must be actively registered (full-time or part-time) in a master’s or doctoral program at UVic and must provide their student number (V#) upon request.

Graduate students will be placed on a waitlist on a first-come, first-serve basis. If there are seats available, you will be contacted the week prior to the course start date.

Note: Students may not register at full tuition to bypass the waitlist, or later withdraw to re-register with the graduate student discount. Regular withdrawal and refund policies also apply.

The discount does not apply to textbooks, software, other course materials, application fees, or additional program fees.
