Program description

This Micro-certificate in Fundamental Leadership Skills is designed to equip emerging leaders with the essential skills and knowledge to lead effectively in today’s dynamic environments. Over the course of three comprehensive courses, participants will explore foundational leadership theories, develop practical skills for leading teams, and learn to navigate organizational challenges with confidence, agility and strategic insight.

The combination of the courses provides a holistic view of foundational leadership skills and prepares participants for leadership roles within various types of organizations. Participants will learn to lead with confidence, foster engagement, practice adaptability, gain strategic insight and be ready to tackle the challenges of modern leadership roles.

After completing the Micro-certificate in Fundamental Leadership Skills, you will be able to:

  • develop an understanding of various leadership theories and models and the ability to identify and develop individual leadership styles

  • are CBA/DBA alumni who have completed one to two required courses
  • have started the CBA/DBA programs but have not finished

 In addition, learners must complete one of the following courses, depending on their area of focus/interest:

Application information

How to apply

No application is necessary, simply select any of the three courses required for the micro-certificate and register for them independently. When registering, you will have the option to purchase the micro-credential in Fundamental Leadership Skills Fee at an additional cost of $20. You are only required to select this when registering for one of the three courses.

Once you have completed your third course, your certificate will be electronically issued and sent to you. Certificates will be sent approximately one month after the completion of your third course. 

Note: We are unable to retroactively issue a micro-certificate. Students must purchase the $20 program fee prior to the last day of the last course in the program.
