Due to the ongoing pandemic, the English Language Centre at UVic has cancelled all on-campus programs until January 2022, except for ELPI September with a limited availability. Please see this important update about what students can expect in ELPI September.
For those registered in cancelled programs, students have the choice of a: full refund, transfer to a future program, or transfer to an online program (with the balance of fees settled).

Over 1,000 students from 30 countries attend ELPI each year. It’s a program full of options and opportunities, where students can focus on general or academic English classes and pursue a pathway to UVic degree programs through the "University Admission Preparation" level.
In 2019, we launched "ELPI Summer"—a 9-week version of this program in July and August, so that students can enjoy ELPI all year round!

The University of Victoria has all the facilities to improve your English, such as The CALL lab and the Pronunciation Centre where we can improve our speaking, reading, and writing skills. These are very important because we can complement our learning outside the classroom
In Victoria I could meet awesome people. I was surprised that they were so kind and friendly. When I met people they always greeted with smiles. It made me happy. I'm sure that Victoria has the kindest and friendliest culture in the world!
At the ELC I learned not only English but I learned how to be responsible about a group of people, how to make decisions, and how to manage my time.
Everything was perfect in Victoria; beautiful nature, friendly citizens, safe city, awesome teachers and the BEST friends!
The ELC offers great programs, organizes fun leisure activities, and the staff is always trying hard to take care of the students' needs. I had and still have a strong connection to my teachers. They gave me support and constructive feedback when I needed it.
