Welcome to the French immersion Workshop Series 

This workshop aims to present the foundations of the action-oriented approach in order to help teachers (re)orient their pedagogy towards “a competence perspective” (see CEFR, 2018). We will first review the key elements of the approach, in particular the notion of task and of the learner seen as a “social actor” using the language, then we will see how to integrate the action-oriented task into a perspective of co-construction of meaning through interaction. The third part of our workshop will discuss the evaluation of interactional tasks before concluding with a discussion between participants. Throughout the workshop, we will use the Défi method (A1-A2) to illustrate our point with numerous examples of tasks and micro-tasks.

Cet atelier a pour objectif de présenter les fondements de l’approche actionnelle afin d’aider les enseignants à (ré)orienter leur pédagogie vers “une perspective de compétence” (voir CECR, 2018). Nous passerons d’abord en revue les éléments-clés de l’approche, notamment la notion de tâche et de l’apprenant·e vu comme un “acteur social” usager de la langue, puis nous verrons comment intégrer la tâche actionnelle dans une perspective de coconstruction du sens par le biais de l’interaction. Le troisième volet de notre atelier discutera de l'évaluation des tâches interactionnelles avant de conclure par une discussion entre participant·e·s. Tout le long de l’atelier, nous nous baserons sur la méthode Défi (A1-A2) pour illustrer notre propos de nombreux exemples de tâches et de micro-tâches.
