Introduction to Backyard Beekeeping

COURSE

Course description

Wanna Bee Savvy this Spring? This course is designed for individuals who want to get started with beekeeping and currently have no bees. It will also offer useful tips and resources for beginner beekeepers with less than 2 years of experience.  We will cover the fundamentals of getting started including woodenware, tools and equipment, pest and diseases of the honeybee and other essentials for the first years of beekeeping. To support a welcoming environment for your hive, we will also look at some of the top pollinator plants that are attractive to bees in our area. To help your bees maintain optimum health and also to provide forage (nectar/pollen) for native pollinators, we will be looking at a good selection of the top bee plants for our local area.
