Wound management is an ever-present challenge for health professionals as risk factors for acute and chronic wounds become more and more prevalent in the population. Prevention and care planning require a strong foundation in the principles of wound management and evidence-based clinical practice.
This comprehensive online course—newly revised in 2023—provides health professionals with the essential tools to confidently practice evidence-based wound management within an interprofessional team. The course is taught over six weeks, followed by a one-week exam period. You will apply theory using visual case examples, interactive assessments, and collaborative discussion. This comprehensive online course develops your clinical skills and knowledge for advanced-practice wound care, to work as a Wound Champion.
The eight-week course focuses on:
You will extend your skills to consider advanced wound assessment and management in the context of factors such as the presence of co-morbid conditions, psychosocial issues, and resource considerations.
At the end of the course you will attend a required workshop. As the health and safety of our learners, instructors and staff is our primary concern, the workshop is now being held as a half-day online synchronous event. In the workshop, you’ll gather with your peers and instructor and present the results of your report developed during the course evaluating a wound care product.
