ELPI - Summer FAQ

ELAI is an academic program that includes many of the same learning objectives as the 12-week program. However, there are some differences:

  • ELAI only offers academic English classes
  • there is no access to the Learning Centre (which is closed in the summer) and there are no elective classes
  • classes run Monday to Thursday afternoons and Friday mornings

We accept applications until the program is full, up to 1 month before the program start date.  However, since our programs can fill up quickly, we recommend applying 4-5 months in advance, so that you have enough time to apply for appropriate visas and make travel arrangements.

Homestay applications are due at least 5 weeks before the program start date.

ELAI is an academic program.

Schedule
Monday - Thursday: Core classes 1:00 - 5:15pm
Friday: Core classes 8:30am - 12:30pm

Student level changes are rare and are instructor driven.  Instructors complete various diagnostic tests early on in a program to confirm student placement and only if the instructor(s) determine that a student has been placed incorrectly will they make a request for a level change.  This is followed by a review by an independent set of instructors to approve.
