Course description
An introduction for non-specialists to the Internet, the World Wide Web (WWW) and mobile communications technologies. This project-based introduction to modern Web-based mobile applications focuses on both 2D and 3D design strategies and deployment technologies. Learners will work on projects aligned with new Cyberspace opportunities defined by Metaverse and Omniverse initiatives. Topics include design processes such as framing, prototyping, and skeuomorphism, as well as deployment processes associated with introductory programming, development tools, and rendering.
In addition to class time, learners will be required to participate in a weekly labs from 8:30-9:30 am on either Wednesdays or Fridays. Preference will be confirmed after registration.
You will be completing this course as a non-credit participant, but will be in the same course as UVic undergraduate students completing for university credit. If you wish to complete this course for University credit, please contact the Department of Computer Science Undergraduate Advisor.
