Trauma Informed Schools: The What and How of Trauma Informed Practice
COURSE
Course description
1 in 3 adult Canadians suffer from some form of abuse in their past, experiences that put them at risk of developing mental health disorders later in life.
Understanding trauma informed practice can help you better support students who experience traumatic events.
In this workshop, you’ll learn how our brains process trauma and how you can best respond to disclosures of traumatic events. Two trauma specialists, with over 20 years of combined experience working in the field, will lay the groundwork for educators and administrators to develop perspectives and practices for creating more trauma informed schools to better address issues of trauma within schools and communities.
We expect that teachers at all levels, and administrators, will benefit from this workshop.
