Course description
What is effective climate action and what can we do to have an impact?
We will look at impacts of climate activism such as civil disobedience, protests, marches, politics, letter writing and conversations, in alleviating climate distress and influencing decision makers. Participants will consider which kinds of action best suit them. Since everyone can talk about it, we will discuss how to make climate conversations easier. This is a companion course to ASSC 348. It is recommended, but not required, that participants take this course prior to ASSC 348.

Using mobile devices in online courses
If you are planning on accessing your online courses using a mobile device such as a tablet or a smartphone, please note that not all required course features will be accessible with these devices. To fully function in your online courses, you will need to have access to a computer running Windows or MacOS.
Refund/withdrawal policy
A full course refund will only be provided if you withdraw from a course prior to the course start date. For courses with more than one class, a refund, less a minimum $15 administrative fee may be issued if you withdraw prior to the second class. Depending on your method of payment, a refund will be either mailed to you or credited to your credit card.
Continuing Studies statement on use of educational technology
This course will require the use of Zoom and may use other education technology such as internet-based applications, cloud services, or social media. In order to complete this course you will be required to either consent to the disclosure of your personal information outside of Canada to enable use of these technologies, or work with the Division of Continuing Studies to explore other privacy protective options (such as using an alias or nickname).
