French Language Conversation Classes (FLCC) is a club you’ll be glad you joined! You’ll meet new people who want to learn a new language in a fun, stimulating and relaxed atmosphere, among friends.
FLCC is open to the general public. You don’t need any formal education or previous knowledge of French to take these classes.
You’ll enjoy:
Whether you’re a full- or part-time student, professional, retired or stay-at-home parent, these classes will help you learn French!
FLCC offers three 10-week sessions per year, in the fall, spring and summer. Classes are usually offered in the evening, with a few morning sections as well so you can choose the option that best fits your schedule if there is a choice at your level. There are no required textbooks and no exams in FLCC.
Classes are offered at different levels: you choose the level you are most comfortable with (Introductory, Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced). You can take each level as many times as you wish: each session is different, based on the interests and needs of each class.
There’s no rush to get to the next level: you decide when you’re ready to move up. The only exception to this is the Introductory level class, which is meant for complete beginners, and usually only taken once.
You also have access to the many language resources available at UVic, including the digital language labs and the library.
