Course description

In this course learners will examine the intersectional experiences of women and 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals. You will start by exploring the spectrums of gender and sexuality and then you will examine homelessness as it relates to the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. You will also look at the unique experiences of women related to homelessness. Included in this, you will examine the crisis of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG).

  • Describe the spectrums of gender and sexuality and identify inclusive terms related to the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
  • Describe the unique needs and challenges of 2SLGBQIA+ individuals who experience homelessness
  • Identify strategies for providing culturally safe, trauma-informed, inclusive support
  • Describe the unique needs and challenges faced by women experiencing homelessness
