This program is fully funded for in-service French Immersion teachers in British Columbia. 

Admission requirements

The program is open to in-service French Immersion teachers in British Columbia.

Mentor teachers should have:

• a minimum of 5 years teaching experience
• experience with professional collaboration on learning teams, inquiry projects, etc.
• effective communication skills
• knowledge of current educational pedagogies
• demonstrated curricular and instructional leadership
• willingness to meet with the mentee on a regular basis, both formally and informally
• willingness to participate in a training session and to provide feedback on the program to the steering committee
• former mentoring / professional coaching experiences (desirable)

Mentee teachers should have:

• a current BC teaching certificate and less than 5 years of teaching experience, or less than 5 years of teaching experience in one’s current role
• willingness to meet with the mentor on a regular basis, both formally and informally
• willingness to be open, to share professional learning goals, and to be a reflective practitioner
• willingness to participate in an orientation session and to provide feedback on the program to the steering committee
