Writing With Photographs
COURSE
Course description
The photographs we keep or admire can offer rich material for non-fiction writers. Photographs can be used as writing prompts, story-telling devices or evidence of the past. You will look at various writers who use photographs to tell their stories. We will discuss why photographs are important to these writers and how you can apply their techniques to inspire your own work.
Students are encouraged to bring along a selection of their own photographs for each of the six in-class writing exercises. The course is suitable for creative non-fiction writers at all levels.
