Course description

Country music is not—and never was—one style of music. It has always been a mixture of many styles, springing from many roots and sprouting many new branches to create a complicated chorus of voices. From the bluegrass of Appalachia, the Texas swing and the Bakersfield honky tonk, to the sound of new country and the Grand Ol Opry, we’ll look at the songs and artists that gave us “Three Chords and the Truth.”
