A Run for Indigenous Self Determination
COURSE
Course description
This course is an introduction to the Gitxsan and W̱SÁNEĆ Peoples's journeys towards self-determination, resurgence, and nation-to-nation partnership.
Reflecting on the 1988 Run for Justice, initiated in support of the Gitxsan Wet'suwet'en's land claim case, you will explore both historical and present-day efforts of land defenders, artists and law scholars to protect Gitxsan and W̱SÁNEĆ lands, waters and legal orders as they interface with the state and corporate sectors.
