Course description

The X̱E,OL,X̱ELE₭ - Elk Lake fault represents a previously unrecognized earthquake hazard for southern Vancouver Island. Your instructor will explain how the research team identified this fault and how they estimated the timing and size of a prehistoric earthquake along it. He will also discuss the various seismic hazards and risks associated with this fault (and others like it), and how we can best prepare for an earthquake.
