From Catastrophe to Community
Part of:
In Pursuit of Knowledge - Winter
Course description
Climate change means that our seasons are increasingly becoming defined by the disasters they bring. The stories we tell about those disasters will determine whether we are overwhelmed by them as individuals or can overcome them as a community. Sean Holman, an associate professor in the Department of Writing at UVic and a Wayne Crookes Professor of Environmental and Climate Journalism, discusses the human experience of climate change and how their award-winning teaching newsroom, the Climate Disaster Project, has been helping disaster communities around the world share their experiences and transform them into opportunities for change.
