Which ELC program(s) did you attend?

I attended the Intensive English – Online (ELPI-O) program.

What made your ELC program special?

We covered tons of different topics on the course, some of them related to Canadian culture and interesting discussions on every topic. That makes the course very exciting, in addition to the classmates with different points of view, for sure.

Before your program at UVic, what part of learning English did you struggle with?

Writing and speaking was always a headache when I was doing the test over the years. We don't have many opportunities in our home country as a native speaker in English.

How did studying online help achieve your English learning goals?

With the opportunity to study online at UVic, I have been improving these skills week by week. I have learnt many details and tips on how to speak correctly and write in a more academic style.

How will improved English skills help you in the future?

In many fields for the coming months - or years! I have an extensive list of goals, and English is a requirement to achieve some of them. Learning English is essential today, especially if we want to access a wide range of opportunities around the world.

Best advice for new students

From my experience, I consider it a very flexible option in which you can adjust according to your time, the teachers are totally understanding, and they attend to any doubts during the activities. Totally recommendable!
