Course description
What is "film noir" and why are we still fascinated by it? In this course, you will view six classic film noir films from the key era of 1944 to 1958, including Black Angel (1946), Road House (1948), Kansas City Confidential (1952), The Hitch-Hiker (1953) and The Big Combo (1955). We will analyze and discuss elements that make up film noir, and discover how it became one of the most influential movements in film history.
