Backwards Design and Clustered Curricular Competencies
COURSE
Course description
Streamlining and Simplifying Instruction and Assessment
Backwards design, combined with clustered curricular competencies will simplify your lesson planning, facilitate accessible and straightforward assessment and save you time. In this workshop you'll learn how to cluster the curricular competencies. You will then practice backwards design through this lens, and participate in hands-on collaborative activities that clarify assessment of curricular competencies and content in a straight-forward and accessible fashion. Best of all, you’ll come away with a clear path forward for implementing these changes in your practice.
This workshop will best support middle and secondary level teachers.

Learners will
- practice backwards design incorporating curricular competency clusters as a way to streamline instruction, assessment and learning.
