Course description

This course focuses on the theory and practices to help us build alliances powerful enough to transform systems. Settler colonialism and capitalism have damaged relationships with land and with each other. As we seek to build strong alliances between Indigenous Peoples and settlers we need to be unlearning white supremacy, hierarchy and dominance, and learning to build trust, reciprocity and accountability.

Learning objectives

Upon completion of the course, you will be able to:

  • Understand the need for and become familiar with the theories related to the transformative work encompassed in the Five Dimensions of Building Trust & Healing Relations
  • To develop the knowledge and relational skills related to the Five Dimensions of Building Trust & Healing Relations
  • Experience and learn first-hand about real-life examples and initiatives related to the Five Dimensions of Building Trust & Healing Relations
  • Process and synthesize all that we’ve learned, in order to make commitments and take action to put all this into practice

Format:

This is a 5-day, in-person course, with 10 weeks of online pre-and post-course reading and assignments. This course will be offered in May 2025.
