During the week of March 19, UVic participated in the first ever 5 Days of Action. The goal of the event was to create meaningful and respectful dialogue on campus around equity, diversity and human rights and to actively engage the campus community in concrete actions to end discrimination, harassment and sexualized violence.
Continuing Studies staff, students, instructors, along with interested campus partners and community members made their pledge at our 5 Days of Action event on March 19. All those who participated added their painted handprints to a large canvas as a pledge to embrace diversity and encourage inclusion in the workplace and throughout the community. The event also included information displays on practical ways to embrace diversity and inclusion. Once ready for display, the canvas will be permanently displayed in the Continuing Studies Atrium. Thank you to all who participated!

Other 5 Days of Action activities included workshops, live theatre and daily calls to action that invited participation by every member of the community. Every faculty across campus participated in some way—either through a formal workshop or presentation, or a more casual call to action.
