Tips for staying healthy and protecting your community

The current precautions for coronavirus are the same as for influenza (the flu) and other common respiratory infections.

  • wash your hands often with soap and water or an alcohol-based gel
  • cough or sneeze into your arm or sleeve
  • avoid close contact with sick people
  • if possible, stay home when you are sick

If you have travelled lately or have been in contact with anyone who might have the coronavirus and you have any of the following symptoms, take steps to reduce the risk: fever, cough, muscle aches, difficulty breathing. Call your health care provider or call HealthLink BC at 8-1-1 for guidance.

Every member of our university community has the right to be treated with respect and dignity and to be welcomed and supported on our campus. No person should be targeted in any way or subjected to discrimination resulting from a misplaced perception that they may be a carrier of a communicable disease based on their perceived disability, race, ancestry, place of origin or otherwise.
