Olga Gould is an Industrial-Management Engineer and Computer Scientist with a deep background in Corporate Finance and Information Technology. Holding an MSc in Computer Science from the University of Victoria, specializing in Data Science, and an MEng in Operations Research and Statistics in Industrial Engineering, Olga has been a driving force in the Business Intelligence and Data Analytics program at the Division of Continuing Studies since its inception.
As a lecturer at the University of Victoria, Olga develops agile data management courses across various faculties. Her courses cover a wide range of essential topics, including Descriptive, Predictive, and Prescriptive Analytics, Information Visualization, Project Management, and a variety of analytics techniques. Olga's commitment to ethical data management ensures that students not only acquire technical skills but also understand the importance of responsible data usage.
Outside academia, Olga is the founder and Chief Data Officer of a private company offering business intelligence, data analytics, and cybersecurity solutions. She also serves as a member of the Board of Governors, Treasurer, and chair of the Enterprise Risk Management Committee at a private school in BC. Additionally, Olga is the author of a book that teaches Entrepreneurship for children, a book distributed in Colombian public schools and libraries.
