The University of Victoria charges a $40 graduation fee regardless of whether students attend the convocation ceremony. You can obtain an Application to Graduate from your Program Coordinator.
Some—but not all—Continuing Studies courses are subject to Goods and Services Tax (GST). If GST is payable, it will say so in the tuition fee on the course page.
Income tax receipts
After you register for a course, you’ll receive a confirmation receipt. Keep this receipt, as it is your official income tax receipt.
If your UVic tuition fees exceed $100 in one calendar year, they may qualify as a tax credit. To determine whether your tuition fees qualify, consult the Canada Revenue Agency guidelines. More information can be found on our Student and Income Taxes page.
You can download a copy of your T2202A forms for previous years through My Account.
Continuing Studies Bursary
Each term the Division of Continuing Studies offers bursaries totalling CAD $1,000 to assist learners in furthering their education. Bursaries will be awarded to learners who can display evidence of a commitment to lifelong learning and who can demonstrate financial need.
You can obtain a bursary application by calling 250-472-4747, or by downloading a PDF application form.
The application deadlines are:
- Aug. 31 for September term
- Jan. 15 for January term
Bursaries cannot be granted before these dates, since a selection committee must consider each application.
The following programs offer additional scholarship and bursary options:
- Diploma in Intercultural Education
- La Maison Française
- Kalman Award for International Heritage students
The Division of Continuing Studies has dedicated $25,000 to support newly-arrived refugees in Greater Victoria wishing to pursue education in the Division’s non-credit credential offerings.
