The Global Displacement Crisis and Canada’s Response
Part of:
UVic on the Peninsula
Course description
The number of displaced persons globally are at their highest point in decades, even as the international regimes put in place to support those forcibly displaced are receiving less and less support.
Canada has historically taken a leading role in supporting migrants and refugees both domestically and internationally through multilateral institutions, but in recent years has pulled back from this leadership role.
In the face of anti-migration skepticism and global retreat from assisting those displaced from their homes, how should Canada respond to the contemporary displacement crisis?
