COURSE
Course description
This course introduces you to the psychology of systemic, collective and individual-level climate action. You will learn the tools to: integrate psychological perspectives into climate action strategies, collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary solution-seekers, critically assess existing psychological strategies, and adopt a hopeful vision of climate action.
Learning objectives
Upon completion of the course, you will be able to:
- apply a psychological perspective to the climate crisis, at an individual, collective and systemic level
- integrate psychology into interdisciplinary, critical and community-oriented climate action strategies
- critically assess environmental psychological research, and identify where it can contribute to climate action
- identify and question your own psychological assumptions and biases about climate change
- recognize the contributions of diverse forms and sources of knowledge to psychology, and the importance of collaboration in building climate action strategies
- adopt a hopeful perspective on climate action.
Format
In-person delivery style over a 14-week period, requiring approximately 10 hours of coursework per week. This course will be offered in January 2026.
