Responsibilities
Levent provides leadership and vision to the marketing activities of Continuing Studies at UVic. More specifically, he leads marketing strategy and planning, brand development, marketing research, media planning/buying, creative development and measurement of the effectiveness of marketing activities.
Working collaboratively with the Dean’s Office and programming staff, Levent does this for the Division as a whole as well as for individual programs and courses in six different programming areas targeting varied student segments. Levent manages a marketing team with responsibilities in creative development, graphic design, copy writing, content marketing, email marketing, print and digital production, web development and administration, social media marketing, search engine marketing and video production providing direction and guidance.
Background
Levent is a marketing professional with 20+ years of experience. Prior to joining Continuing Studies at UVic in 2009, Levent spent most of his career in the advertising industry. He worked with diverse local and national clients in consumer goods, media, finance, and utility sectors such as Kraft Dinner, Listerine, the Times Colonist, Island Savings Credit Union, and Centra Gas among others in Istanbul, Toronto and Victoria. Levent holds a BBA (Marmara University, Istanbul, Turkey) and an MBA (Saint Mary’s University, Halifax, NS).
