November 2024 workshop series

Creating an active and engaging classroom

Three workshops and one expert panel: 

November 8 6pm PST Activating Learners with Icebreakers
November 15 6pm PST Balancing Student Needs in Multi-level Classes
November 22 6pm PST Making the Writing Process Interactive
November 29 6pm PST Community of Practice Panel

Fee: $190 CAD

In this series of online workshops, you will learn practical strategies for engaging students to create a more active classroom. After a brief overview of the supporting pedagogy, you will explore theory through hands-on experience and leave each session with practical tips to apply to your own classrooms.

This series focuses on adaptable classroom strategies, starting with techniques for activating students’ prior learning and increasing their confidence, then strategies for supporting diverse needs in a mixed-level class, and finally tips for turning writing instruction into a more interactive and communicative process.

Each series has a final session where the three content specialists will host a community of practice panel, which includes opportunities for you to share ideas, ask questions and connect.

Enhancing your classroom presence

January 17 6pm PST Utilizing Concept Checking Questions
January 24 6pm PST Learning Language Through Storytelling
January 31 6pm PST Community of Practice Panel

Fee: $190 CAD

In this series of online workshops, you will learn how to interact with students in the classroom in a more confident and dynamic manner. After a brief overview of the supporting pedagogy, you will explore theory through hands-on experience and leave each session with practical tips to apply to your own classrooms.

This series focuses on maximizing student output, using guided questions to measure lesson objectives, and engaging in language activities through storytelling.

Each series has a final session where the three content specialists will host a community of practice panel, which includes opportunities for you to share ideas, ask questions and connect.


Certificate: Upon successful completion of each series, you will receive a Certificate of Completion.
