The Certificate in Data Analytics requires the completion of eight courses in total (seven required courses and a choice of one elective course).

Program planning

The length of the program varies depending on how many courses you take per term. On average, students complete the program in one year (full-time) or three years (part-time).

Courses are offered face-to-face or online. Please note that not all courses are available online, and not all courses are available face-to-face. A different selection of courses is offered each term. Early registration is strongly encouraged to ensure availability. Please note: Course schedules for each term are tentative, and all courses are subject to minimum enrolment numbers. 

This program emphasizes active engagement and hands-on learning. Attendance is mandatory for all participants, as it is a key part of the learning experience. Your commitment to consistent attendance and participation is essential to your success in this program.

Application information

Admission requirements

Applicants to the certificate should normally be secondary school graduates with at least two (2) years of professional work experience or have previously completed the equivalent of two (2) years of post-secondary study. Mature learners who do not meet these requirements, are welcomed with at least five (5) years of professional experience. Previous experience in data analytics or coding will not be a requirement for entry.

If your first language is not English, you will need to provide evidence of proficiency.

Learners who have completed, or are in-progress within, the existing Business Intelligence and Data Analytics or Data Storytelling and Visualization micro-credential programs, can ladder into this certificate program, receiving credit for the (up to) three courses completed.
