Writing for Children: Advanced

Course description

For those who have completed the Writing for Children course, the advanced program offers a deeper exploration focusing on language, style, content, character and conflict, as well as the editing and submission processes. Develop and polish ongoing projects, whether picture or chapter books, in a supportive atmosphere with in-class writing and suggested assignments to keep the creative juices flowing. You’ll be assisted in setting goals, organizing your work, researching publication prospects and preparing book submissions. You’ll also have the opportunity to refine and submit a poem or story for publication in a forthcoming anthology of new Canadian writing for children.
