The Micro-certificate in Indigenous Language Documentation has received a Program Excellence Gold Award from the Canadian Association for University Continuing Education (CAUCE).

Presented as part of the 2026 CAUCE Awards at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the award celebrates outstanding achievement and innovation in continuing education programming.

Developed in close partnership with Indigenous advisors and Knowledge Holders, the program was created to address community-identified needs and support language preservation efforts. The program was recognized for its respectful co-creation model and its focus on building capacity for language preservation work. By centring Indigenous-led approaches and strong community partnerships, it provides learners with practical knowledge and skills that contribute to the documentation and revitalization of Indigenous languages.

The award was presented during the annual CAUCE conference, held May 13 to 15, 2026.
