Beginning in fall 2026, UVic parking is moving to a fully cashless payment system.

Students, staff and visitors will be able to pay for parking using the HONK mobile app or with tap-enabled credit and debit cards at parking lot dispensers. The change is designed to make parking payments faster and more convenient while reducing lineups at dispensers.

How to pay for parking

Option 1: Use the HONK Mobile App

Pay for parking directly from your smartphone.

  • Download and open the HONK app
  • Select your parking lot.
  • Choose the amount of parking time you need
  • Complete your payment

Flex 25 parking passes are available through HONK, but weekly parking passes are not.

Option 2: Pay at a Parking Dispenser

Parking dispensers remain available in every parking lot.

  • Pay using a tap-enabled Visa or Mastercard
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete your purchase

Weekly parking passes are available from dispensers, but Flex 25 passes are not.

What is not changing?

There is no change to UVic's parking permit and parking pass system. Existing permit and pass options will continue to be available.
