Shakespeare and Politics
COURSE
Course description
Shakespeare is considered by many as the greatest poet, dramatist and playwright of all time. Less well-known is Shakespeare as a political thinker, expressed through his tragic and comedic characters. By examining his work through this lens, we gain a sense of the human condition, his characters, and their actions. Universal questions will be addressed about love, marriage, friendship, aging and mortality. Investigate Shakespeare’s politics, through his plays, and how they can help us navigate life.
