We are sad to share about the sudden passing of our friend and colleague Richard Mimick on March 9, 2023. Survived by his wife, Claudia; daughters, Kristin (Jeff) Mimick, and Sara (John) Mimick; son, Darryl (Ann) Mimick; granddaughters, Anna Legault and Maisie Mimick; sister, Pam Mimick; sister-in-law, Mary Mimick; nieces and nephews, he will be deeply missed.

Richard served as the Director of Business Programs in Continuing Studies since 2003. He began his career at UVic as a visiting professor in the School of Public Administration in 1993 and then moved on to teach in the Faculty of Business. He was active in the community serving on many advisory boards. One of his many strengths was the ability to bring people together. Many fondly remember chats with him about strategy and innovation, hearing stories about his days in the US Army, teaching at the Ivey School of Business and about his wee Scottie dogs.

Richard was an avid baseball fan and a strong supporter of the Victoria Harbourcats Baseball Club. You could catch him at most games cheering them on.
