Faith Collins

It is with profound sadness that we share the sudden passing of our friend and colleague, Faith Collins, on August 22, 2026.

For more than 41 years, Faith served with distinction in the Division of Continuing Studies at the University of Victoria, where she was a dedicated leader in health education. Her deep understanding of industry needs and emerging trends enabled her to create innovative learning opportunities that reached learners across British Columbia, Canada, and around the world.

Throughout her remarkable career, Faith was a visionary and innovator. She developed countless successful programs, including Canada's first online post-basic nursing degree program, as well as a wide range of professional continuing education programs in health, safety, and public relations. Her commitment to service extended beyond her program leadership. Faith contributed to numerous university and community committees, where she was a respected advocate for fairness, integrity, and ethical decision-making.

Faith’s dedication to lifelong learning was matched only by her devotion to her faith and her family. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Jim; her daughter, Beth (Sean); her son, James (Dolores); her grandchildren, Seamus, Anna, Vincent, and Angus; her sister, Mary Christine; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Faith will be remembered as an innovator, creator, mentor, and cherished friend and colleague.
