Residential School Denialism
COURSE
Course description
Despite decades of testimony and documentation, a growing wave of residential school denialism has emerged in Canada.
Through this course, students will develop awareness of the scope, strategies and narratives that underpin denialism, and investigate the sources through which it circulates. By understanding the tactics of denialism, students will gain the capacity to recognize, name, and interrupt the harms it perpetuates.
Together, we will explore how denialism manifests in Canadian society today, and why attending to these patterns is crucial to honouring Survivors’ truths and advancing meaningful reconciliation.
