Course description

Discover the lesser-known world of childhood in early British Columbia. By considering what the early generations of children were reading—where they were working, when they were going to school, and how they were recorded by governments—we will shed light onto their notions of British Columbian identity. This course is taught by a historian and librarian and will interest those who are curious about the history of BC with a focus on Indigenous-settler relations, women and families, religion, and labour.
