Course description

Through 10 study hours per week, participants build confidence in reading, writing, listening, and speaking while exploring specialized themes based on their language level.

  • Pre-Intermediate: Cultures and Countries
  • Advanced: Intercultural Communication and Globalization

Course format

  • Classes: Participants attend five hours of synchronous (live) classes and complete five hours of guided asynchronous coursework each week.
  • Activities: In addition to their classes and coursework, participants enjoy weekly Social Connect activities such as online conversation practice and games.

  • Dates: February 8 - 19, 2027
  • Levels: Pre-Intermediate and Advanced
  • Content focus: Global Issues
  • Hours: 20 hours total (10 hours per week)
  • Synchronous (live) class schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 5–6:40 pm (Victoria, BC Time). You may need to use a time zone converter to find the class times in your home town.
  • Tuition: $475 CAD
  • Refund policy: Course withdrawal must occur prior to course start date to receive a refund less a $25 administration fee. Fees are non-refundable after the course start date.
  • Registration deadline: January 15, 2027. 
  • Certificate: Record of Grade and Certificate of Completion
