Course description

The objective of this course is striking a balance between creativity and technical expertise.

Essence is the artistic soul of compelling photographs; technical perfection is simply a means to an end. Excessively manipulated images have become photography’s proverbial 3-dollar bill. Emphasis will be single-frame story telling—content, mood, spontaneity—all heavily camera reliant. Photo editing will largely be relegated to ‘touch up’ status.

Participants will complete image assignments to be viewed and critiqued in-class. Designed for intermediate to advanced photographers comfortable with their gear.
