Image and Formal Imagination in Poetry
COURSE
Course description
Explore what is meant by “formal imagination” in the craft of poetry and how it relates to the process of developing “images” in your poems. Through lectures, workshops, writing exercises, and group discussions, you will explore how formal constraints give shape to the imaginative capacity of poetry. For new poets or writers looking to rejuvenate their writing process, this course will prepare you to better understand what you don't already know, and what the poem has to teach you.
