Earth, Climate and Life
COURSE
Course description
Discover the evolution of life throughout its geologic past and the connection to the Earth’s climate. Interesting discoveries will be discussed, along with the different types of rock forming environments and the theory of plate tectonics. The class will also look at key organisms and how we find climate records from them. Coupling mass extinctions, plus different climate states and events over the last 65 million years, leads to more discussion on modern climate change.
