Perfect Passives

Like other passives, the perfects use a “be” verb with a past participle. In Present Perfect, the “be” verb is “have been” or “has been”. In Past Perfect, it's “had been”.

Present Perfect Examples

Active Form Passive Form
They've published it. It's been published.
They've hired her. She's been hired.

Past Perfect Examples

Active Form Passive Form
He'd done it many times. It had been done many times.
They'd eaten the food. The food had been eaten.
