Encounters with Place | Day 1: Water (only)

Day 1 of this 12-hour outdoor ecology program introduces students to local waterways, landforms, and plant life. Day 1 of Encounter with Place guides students on walks to Mt. Tolmie and Mystic Vale. Students learn to identify native and introduced species while exploring campus-area ecosystems over two days.

Encounters with Place | Day 2: Land (only)

Day 2 of this 12-hour outdoor ecology program introduces students to local landscapes and plant life. Day 2 of Encounter with Place guides students on walks to Cottonwood Swamp and Cadboro Bay Beach. Students learn to identify native and introduced species while exploring campus-area ecosystems.
