Reclaiming Family and Community Medicines

Course description

Led by renowned Tłı̨chǫ Dene author and storyteller Richard Van Camp, this course offers an exploration of his life’s work of reclaiming family and community medicine through storytelling. Topics will include reviving harvesting techniques, artisan traditions, and recipe legacies. You will engage with Indigenous literatures beyond the written word, to explore the power of such stories to heal, inspire and build relationships. This course invites you to consider your own responsibilities to personal, familial and community stories through a variety of independent learning activities. As non-credit registrants, you will join the online lectures of this credit class and have access to the online materials and activities, but will not submit assignments or receive grades. This course is open to everyone.
