Biography

Crystal Wood is a member of Łı́ı́dlı̨ı̨ Kų́ę́ First Nation from Fort Simpson, NWT but has lived in multiple communities. She currently resides in Parkland County, Alberta. Her life’s journey, and passion for the inclusion of Indigenous knowledge in education led her to pursue a PhD. She currently is a doctoral student with the University of Alberta in Educational Policy Studies for Indigenous Peoples education. She currently is an instructor teaching courses related to Indigenous education and languages and is part of a SILR research project called ‘The Search’ for Wellness through Ancestral Languages. She is excited to be part of the CILR journey in teaching about topics related to Indigenous language revitalization. Mahsi-cho.
