To register for credit courses (A05 section), you must first be admitted to the University of Victoria and then register for individual coursesthrough UVic Online Tools.
To apply for admission to the University of Victoria:
To register for non-credit courses (D01 section), you must first submit a Continuing Studies online application for the Teaching English Language Learning program and then register for individual courses on the Continuing Studies website.
There is no cost to apply. You do not need to apply for admission to the University of Victoria in order to register for non-credit courses, and you will not receive undergraduate-level credit for completing a non-credit course.

Using mobile devices in online courses
If you are planning on accessing your online courses using a mobile device such as a tablet or a smartphone, please note that not all required course features will be accessible with these devices. To fully function in your online courses, you will need to have access to a computer running Windows or MacOS.
For 2023 section:
- Last day for 100% reduction of tuition fees for standard first term and full year courses Sunday, January 22nd, 2023. 50% of tuition fees will be assessed for courses dropped after this date.
- Last day for 50% reduction of tuition fees for standard courses: Sunday, February 12th, 2023.
- 100% of tuition fees will be assessed for courses dropped after this date.
Credit vs non-credit
Credit refers to degree credit. If you are taking a course or program for credit through UVic Continuing Studies, it means that course or program provides credit towards a degree at UVic or another authorized university. Credit students have to meet certain criteria, such as being accepted to both UVic Continuing Studies and the University of Victoria.
