Making Sense of the Self - Western & Eastern Approaches to “Who am I?”

Course description

In this course, we will explore the "self" from the lens of both Eastern Wisdom Traditions and contemporary Western Psychology. We will engage the ancient inquiry of Who am I? and investigate the factors that influence our most basic sense of ourselves such as our individual physicality, relationships, thought processes and feelings, as well as our larger awareness and consciousness. Experiential exercises will offer participants an opportunity to practice this (de)construction of self and to understand, from the inside out, the benefits and liabilities associated with conventional selfhood.
