UVic campus open on Friday, Jan. 7

Campus will re-open on Friday, Jan. 7 with regular services in operation.

If you need to travel or be on campus please plan ahead, allow extra time and take care in your travels, wear appropriate clothing and footwear, and be prepared for icy and slushy conditions.

If your vehicle is not equipped for snow conditions, consider an alternate form of transportation.

For ease of travel, keep to main routes and building entrances as these will be cleared first of snow and ice. Allow extra time to find campus parking as not all lots will be fully cleared by Jan. 7. 

We thank you for your patience. Our Facilities Management staff are working as quickly as possible to clear campus of snow and ice. Report any unsafe conditions to Campus Security at 250-721-7599

Due to heavy snowfall and icy conditions, the UVic campus is closed today, Jan. 6.

The campus is expected to be open on Friday, Jan. 7. An update will be provided by 7 a.m. Friday.

UVic crews are working to clear roadways, paths and parking lots in order of priority.

During a campus closure any academic and administrative functions that are available remotely will continue. The campus closure only applies to those activities that must occur on the physical campus.

Residence facilities remain open for students living on campus.
